Caption | The very first fashion magazine, the Cabinet des Modes (1785–1797), had occasionally also published pictures of new furniture or an interior to alternate with the fashions. The Gazette du Bon Ton picked up this tradition, enabling interior decorators and furniture designers to spread their ideas too. Some editions came with supplements consisting of an insert of four or five croquis (sketches) depicting modern interiors. Origin: Paris. Date: 1921. Object ID: RP-P-2009-1953-9. |
