Cabinet

Active selection in cart:
All the elements of this cabinet are curved, as if the entire piece of furniture were moving. The carved ornament – a combination of plants and flowers and abstract forms – reinforces that impression. Only rarely in the Netherlands did such a large and massive piece of furniture manage to express the Rococo style so perfectly. Perhaps this cabinet was designed by a sculptor and not by a cabinetmaker. Origin: Amsterdam. Date: c 1755 – c 1765. Object ID: BK-1989-16.
