Caption | This model was exhibited at the Exposition Universelle of 1867–1868 in Paris. It represents a floating iron dry dock built in 1863–1864. The dock had been shipped in parts to Surabaya in Indonesia, where it was assembled and towed to the island of Onrust. The dock comprised two halves. This model represents part of one half. Origin: Amsterdam. Date: 1863 – 1864. Object ID: NG-MC-1187. |
