Three Flamingos near a Basin

Active selection in cart:
August Allebé produced this worked-up drawing on the basis of sketches he had made on the spot in the zoo. He used a surprising palette of bright and natural colours. In his early work he favoured dark brown and red tints. Perhaps this change was brought about by all of the drawing he did out of doors. Date: 1872. Object ID: RP-T-1971-98.
