Two Guanyin Figures. These two works evidence the typical style of the Liao dynasty, a kingdom founded by the Khitan, a semi-nomadic Tatar people from the north of China. The skilled craftsmen retained the corporality of the style from the preceding Tang dynasty, but introduced more details, in particular to the hands and feet. Origin: China. Date: 1050 – 1200.
