Design for a Mantelpiece

The outer frame consists of pilasters with brakcets as consoles. The designs of the latter are different as are the decoration and the material used for the pilasters. The left one shows an inner narrow stripe with a heart motif framed by lilac marble. The right pilaster shows a framed oblong panel of red marble. The inner frame consists of oblongs of yellow marble and squares with rosettes. Above is an entablature with a high frieze. In its center is a device, a ring and two feathers. Laterally are at left a calyx, in an architrave at right a crouching lion shown from the front face. The cast shadow is indicated. The background is colored slightly brown. Base line.
