Caption | Huntington Avenue Grounds, 1903 Season. Photomontage of six photographs of the field and crowd at a doubleheader between the Boston Americans and the Cleveland Blues. The doubleheader was played on Bunker Hill Day, a crowd of 13,000 attended on this Boston holiday. Cleveland won the first game 3-1 with Boston forcing a split by winning the second game 6-1. In this game Boston's Long Tom Hughes outpitched Cleveland ace Addie Joss. Top left: Crowd on the field while exiting after the game. Top right: Fans from the right field stands cross the field on their way to the exit on the left field corner. Middle left: Cleveland batter heads toward first after putting the ball in play with a man on first. Boston pitcher Hughes runs toward first to back up the play.
