Active selection in cart:
Caption | L’Amour désarmé (1re planche). Venus sits on a mound of grass, naked to her waist. With her right hand, she holds up the drapery that slips from her hip. With her left hand, she raises her son's bow and amuses herself by defying him. Cupid is seen from behind. He is naked and winged. He crawls on his knees to her and seems to be begging her to surrender her weapon. On the left and along the bottom, there are grassed slopes, crowned with trees. Artist: Fantin-Latour, Henri, 1836-1904. Date: 1862. Sourced from Digital Commonwealth website. |
