On the calendar page the silhouettes of Lenin and Stalin are to be seen Between them there’s the text: “21 years of the socialist revolution.” The date is December 12, 1937, the sixth day of the six day period. This means Saturday. The Soviet calendar system in the 30’s used parallel to the 7-day week(Monday to Sunday), also the so called six day periods (six day period means working days – that is from Monday to Saturday”. So instead of Monday they would have said first day of the six day period. The behind such a change was better organization of labor and construction of shifts. In 1940 the USSR returned the seven day week as the only time measurement. Under the calendar page there are two red slogan bands, which read: “All to the voting booths for the elections of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR These were the first elections for the Supreme Soviet.
