GPO Sidelights: Savings Bank, Adrema Machines

Active selection in cart:
Savings Bank, Adrema Machines. Every year the Savings Bank has to issue nearly a million dividend warrants for holders of stock purchased by depositors. These warrants are prepared by Adrema machines at the rate of about 2,000 an hour. In addition the machines are used for addressing circulars on Savings Bank business to Head Postmasters all over the country. The stencils used in the Adrema machines are cut by another machine something like a typewriter, and are then passed under a steel roller to ensure a clean impression. They are stored on the same principle as a card index file. One of a set of 50 cigarette cards on the subject of Interesting Sidelights On The Work Of The GPO published by Lambert and Butler in 1939. Lithographs based on photographs.
