Beim Photographen. Die altesten, nach dem Franzosen Daguerre Daguerrotypen genannten Photographien sind bald hundert Jahre alt. Vom Bildnisgemalde ausgehend, gelang den alten Photographen oft eine fur unser Gefuhl erstaunlich naturliche, schlichte Wiedergabe und Charakteristik. Erst die spatere Zeit brachte falsche Pose und gezwungene Steifheit, die uns heute oft lacheln lasst. Translation: At the Photographer. The oldest photographs, called Daguerrotypes after the Frenchman Daguerre, are almost a hundred years old. Proceeding from the portrait painting, the old photographers often succeeded in producing what we felt to be astonishingly natural, simple reproduction and characteristics.
