Sonntagsjager. Das edle Weidwerk wurde im Laufe des 19 Jahrh oft von Unberufenen als Sonntagsvergnugen betrieben. Der eitle Spiessburger wollte mit Jagderfolgen am Stammtisch prahlen. So entstand die Witzblattfigur des Sonntagsjagers mit seinem Jagerlatein. Ein Gluck, dass manches flinke Wild diesen Schutzen entging! Heute ist gottlob wieder das Wild und nicht der Jager die Hauptsache. Translation: Sunday Hunter. In the course of the 19th century, the noble pasture work was often operated by unemployed people as a Sunday pleasure. The vain Spiessburger wanted to boast about his hunting successes at the regulars' table. This is how the joker figure of the Sunday huntsman with his huntsman's tale came about. Luckily, some nimble game escaped these protectors! Today, thank God, the game and not the hunter is the main thing.
