Metzgerladen / Butcher Shop

Active selection in cart:
Metzgerladen. Translation: Butcher Shop. In earlier times, there were no shops with large display windows; craftsmen and tradesmen mostly offered their goods for sale in sales vaults and placed them on benches set up in front of them, the so-called shelves. Scharren or Schrannen, for display. Even today, street names in old towns such as An den Fleischbanken are reminiscent of these artisan stalls.
