Brauer. Wein und Bier waren fruher wichtige Volksgetranke, denn Wassertrinken war wegen der Seuchen gefahrlich. Das Bier wurde im kleinen Hausbetrieb gebraut. Der Braumeister mit Gesellen, Biersieder, Malzer und Kellermeister, werkten in Malzkeller, Darre, Sudhaus, Gar- und Lagerkeller, von ihrer Kunst hing wie von der Gute des Wassers, der Gerste und des Hopfens die Wurzigkeit des Bieres ab. Translation: Brewer. Wine and beer used to be important folk drinks because drinking water was dangerous because of the epidemics. The beer was brewed in a small house. The master brewer with his journeymen, beer boiler, maltster and cellar master worked in the malt cellar, kiln, brewhouse, cooking and storage cellar, the spiciness of the beer depended on their art as well as on the quality of the water, barley and hops.
