The daughter of Marguerite Steinheil visiting her mother in Saint-Lazare Prison, Paris. Marguerite Steinheil was the wife of the French painter Adolphe Steinheil. She was found tied up and gagged in bed in their home in Paris, with her husband and mother murdered. She claimed that she had been tied up by four strangers dressed in black robes. The police suspected Marguerite of the murders and she was arrested and detained in St Lazare Prison, but was acquitted after a sensational trial in November 1909.
