| Caption | Marinai eroici. Il comandante di una piccola torpediniera priva di corazza affronta nel Canale di Sicilia un incrociatore che fa parte di una squadra nemica, lo silura a breve distanza e lo affonda. Ma mentre la grossa nave avversaria si inabissa altre navi inglesi tirano sulla torpediniera, che vien colpita a morte. Sotto il fuoco il comandante italiano non lascia il suo posto, un'altra torpediniera accorre in soccorso ed egli grida attraverso il megafono, Ho silurato un incrociatore, salvate i miei uomini! E rimane sulla nave che sprofonda. Molte ore dopo verra ritrovato ancora vivo, aggrappato a un relitto. Illustration for La Domenica Del Corriere, 20 October 1940. |
