|Caption||Case of a dead body found in a trunk, France, 1896. A criminal called Aubert killed a man for his valuable stamp collection and then concealed the body in a trunk left in the baggage room of a railway station. He and his mistress, Marguerite Dubois, were caught by the police when they returned to the station later to move the trunk, the contents of which had been revealed after the decomposing body began to smell.
