V.2 Rockets

Active selection:
September 8, 1944 saw the first modern rocket V.2 used during the Second World War fall on London. It was fired all the way from Germany. The V.2 traveled at supersonic speed, it could not be heard before it arrived--unlike the V.1 bomb used earlier, which had been nicknamed Buzz Bomb and Doodlebug.
