Angler Fish

Active selection:
There are about 120 species of Deep-Sea Angler fish lurking in the gloom of the ocean beds at depths of up to 2,000 metres. They have no eyes. To attract and catch the small fish that are their main diet they use whip-like lures with a light-producing organ at the tip. Only females have these lures. The males survive by attaching themselves as parasites to the females that have the bioluminescent lures. Males are about one-tenth the size of females.
