|Caption||The photograph shows Glenfinnan at the head of Loch Shiel in Inverness. It is the site of a monument commemorating the moment in 1745 when a Scottish hero Bonnie Prince Charlie unfurled his standard and announced his intent to invade England. Bonnie Prince Charlie (1720-1788), also called the Young Pretender, was the great-grandson of King James II. His full name was Charles Edward Louis John Casimir Silvester Maria Stuart. He was defeated at the Battle of Culloden in 1746.|
