Zeppelin Airships

Active selection:
Count von Zeppelin invented these airships, which were lifted by hydrogen gas. Germany used them for bombing and reconnaissance during World War I. In the 1930s they operated regular transatlantic flights but these were discontinued after 35 out of 97 passengers died when a zeppelin called the Hindenburg burst into flames.
