William Seymour

Active selection:
William Seymour, Earl of Hertford, sauntered out of the dreaded Tower of London behind this cart, dressed as a carter's boy. He, who had Tudor blood in his veins, took a risk when he married Lady Arabella Stuart, James I's cousin. Both were imprisoned. He escaped to freedom, using clothes smuggled in by his barber. Arabella esaped but was captured. Seymour was later forgiven by James, fought valiantly in the Civil War, and ended his life as a Duke. Poor Arabella died in prison.
