Terra Nova
Active selection:
Caption | Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his crew left London in June 1910 on the 197-foot Terra Nova bound for the Antarctic. They reached the South Pole, but found that the Swedish explorer Amundsen and his party had got there first. Starvation and the terrible cold took its toll on Scott's expedition, and every member died before reaching their base camp. |
