Anglo-Saxon churches

Active selection in cart:
Although some Anglo-Saxon churches were built of wood, these have not survived. Most were built in stone and are very strong, although they look primitive to us. Churches were the only buildings built of stone at that time, and consequently the only ones to have survived. Dwelling houses were made of wood or wattle-and-daub.
