Suicide Subs

Active selection in cart:
Suicide Subs was the nickname of the ill-fated K-class of submarine. They were beset by all manner of misfortune and catastrophe. The K7 was involved in the so called "Battle" of May Island 31 January 1918. On manoeuvres on a foggy night several British ships struck each other and the K6 speared the K4, the K7 followed on and finished off the unfortunate submarine and her crew. In total 270 men died in a disaster that the Navy kept secret for morale reasons until the end of World War I. Original artwork for Look and Learn.
