Drake destroys the Spanish fleet in Cadiz Harbour with fireships

Active selection in cart:
Sailing boldly into Cadiz Harbour, Sir Francis Drake destroyed thousands of tons of Spanish shipping by setting them alight with fireships, thus destroying King Philip II of Spain's assault force when it was almost ready to sail. (bottom right) Many Spanish ships that survived the guns of the English fleet were later dashed to pieces on the rocky coasts of Scotland and Ireland; (inset bottom left) Elizabeth I.
