The Chavante
Active selection in cart:
Caption | The Chavante. Top left: Many attempts have been made to establish friendly relations with the Chavante, but all have ended in failure. Top right: All the Chavante live in villages deep in the Mato Grosso, a sea of grass and stunted trees. Most villages are no more than a circle of domed grass huts. Our picture shows women preparing their simple food. Bottom: Chavante men are great hunters and often hunt jaguar. These animals are a great menace, particularly at night.
