Active selection in cart:
Caption | Captain Bartholomew Roberts. The name of Captain Bartholomew Roberts, naval officer turned highly successful pirate, was feared from Nova Scotia to Brazil, from the West Indies to West Afdrica. This dark, elegant Welshman took 400 prizes in four years – more than any other pirate. Noted for his strict discipline, Robets never drunk or gambled, and liked to read the Bible to his crew on Sundays. Original artwork for illustration on p28 of Look and Learn issue no 167 (27 March 1965). |
