Caption | The Salvation Army. Our picture shows Bramwell Booth in the Salvation Army's distinctive uniform. He had some difficulty at first in persuading the women to wear their bonnets. The bottom picture shows the public house which was next door to where the Salvation Army printed its weekly paper, "The War Cry". Original artwork for illustrations on p16 of Look and Learn issue no 656 (10 August 1974). |
