Roman City Wall
Active selection in cart:
Caption | Roman City Wall. One of the lengths of Roman city wall that may still be seen on Tower Hill. The upper portion is medieval, built on the Roman foundation. Below: when the barbarians attacked the Romano British, there was little safety outside the wall of London. Much of the armour worn in our picture indicates that many of the attackers had once been in Roman employ. Original artwork for illustration on p22 of Look and Learn issue no 760 (7 August 1976). |
