The Sunday "train-call"
Active selection in cart:
Caption | The Sunday "train-call" – a Theatrical Institution. Nowadays, with only a handful of shows on tour at any given time, it is a shadow of what it was in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The railways carried hundreds of actors all over the country – previously they had travelled by stage coach or or foot. Original artwork for illustration on p22 of Look and Learn issue no 207 (1 January 1966). |
