"Soapy" Smith's Crooked Kingdom
|Caption||"Soapy" Smith's Crooked Kingdom. Before they could reach the goldfields, the gold prospectors had to pass through a town where a gang of crooks led by "Soapy" Smith waited to relieve them of all the money they possessed. One of Soapy's gangsters masqueraded as a parson and took "greenhorns" to gambling houses where the proprietor could be trusted to fleece these unsuspecting victims.
