Henry Irving

Active selection in cart:
Henry Irving. Here is the young Henry Brodribb, later to become Henry Irving, being given lessons in acting and elocution by William Hoskins, a leading member of Samuel Phelps' Shakespearean company. So keen was he to learn that he had three lessons at Hoskins's house every week – before going off to work as a clerk. Original artwork for illustration on p24 of Look and Learn issue no 205 (18 December 1965).
