Caption | Lieutenant Manfred von Richtofen of the 1st Regiment of Uhlans managed to lead his surviving lancers to safety. Within a few months, he left the Uhlans and became an airman, though few became as famous as Richtofen, "The Red Baron", Germany's highest scoring fighter ace.
