The musical soundtrack of Britain during the Second World War is epitomised by Vera Lynn’s voice and the sentimental but nonetheless powerful lyrics of her signature song,’The White Cliffs Of Dover’. “We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when, but I know we’ll meet again some sunny day”, are words which for many still capture and express the atmosphere of those distant and perilous times, and this terrifically spirited and nostalgic picture of Vera Lynn singing for the Allied troops does much the same.
