C14 knights

Top: Early 14th Century knights wore mail, but by the end of the century they rode into battle completely protected by heavy plate armour. Each knight wore a surcoat on which was emblazoned his heraldic device. Bottom: Coffer, lantern, fourteenth-century scissors and a jug.
