The Blitz

Active selection in cart:
The Blitz. Just after the outbreak of war a German Heinkel HEIII flew over London, not to drop bombs but as a propoganda exercise (top). After a night of bombing, Londoners still expected tht normal services would be functioning and, miraculously, they generally were (left). One of the greatest raids was on the 29th of December 1940. St Paul's Cathedral was damaged, but not destroyed. Original artwork for illustration on p20 of Look and Learn issue no 771 (23 October 1976).
