When Arbroath beat Bon Accord in a Scottish Cup match in September 1885, they recorded the highest ever score in British soccer. The score was 36–0. Arbroath Football Club (The Red Lichties) still play, but Bon Accord, an Aberdeen club, no longer exists. The Arbroath centre forward John Petrie scored 13 goals in the match.
