30 July is the anniversary of the birth of Emily Brontë. Born in Thornton, West Yorkshire, the younger sister of Charlotte Brontë, she was the author of poetry as Ellis Bell, but achieved fame with her novel Wuthering Heights, published in 1847. It was her only novel as she suffered from tuberculosis and died on 19 December 1848.
