The Spanish Conquest of Mexico was notoriously rapacious and genocidal, and this subjugation and destruction was achieved by Cortes and a few hundred Conquistadors, who cleverly used their Mexican victims as slaves to transport supplies and valuable plunder after torching their cities, as seen in this stunning pictorial narrative.
