Black Guillemot – Birds of Britain

No other seabird around the coasts of Britain resembles the black guillemot in coloration. In summer it is all black except for a white patch on the wing. In winter the plumage on its back becomes barred with white and the head and underparts are mainly white. Black guillemots nest in cavities among coastal rocks or cliffs.
