Thames Flood by Angus McBride

The theme for October’s kids art competition is “Global warming”, and the closing date is 7 November 2008.

This picture by Angus McBride was used as the cover illustration for an article on the need for a Thames Barrier that appeared in Look and Learn in 1971.  Flooding is imagined in central London in front of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

    A very evocative picture that struck a chord with me as a 13 year old .But with the message that there is hope if we change things.
